Visualising the J2EE Management Model

Introduction

The purpose of this website is to introduce a technology capable of generating an interactive 3D visualisation of the Management Information Model exposed by an Enterprise Application Server compliant with the J2EE Management Specification, JSR 77.

The visualisation represents the black-box component-based architecture of the deployed system.

The visualisation is generated automatically either through a direct dialogue with the Enterprise Server or by reading the contents of an Enterprise Archive.

The visualisation can adapt its behaviour to the role of the user by altering which aspects of the system are illustrated and made accessible.

The visualisation is targeted at, and is intended to appeal to, the broadest possible audience, it aims to provide a common understanding of the complexity of the visualised system that can be shared across and between the development, business and end-user communities, both technical and non-technical users.

The technology aims to compliment existing development and business environments by providing an additional, intuitive, path through which information can be accessed and assessed.
